2019 STOREYS Theme: “Framing” A Better Home

The 2019 STOREYS theme for the videos that will be made as part of this year’s STOREYS project will be under the umbrella of “Framing” A Better Home.

STOREYS not only aims to raise awareness, but also pushes for action taken to improve society. This year’s theme will have calls to action that will encourage Singaporeans to:

  • Start Small Changes
  • Be a Good Neighbor
  • Highlight an Issue With a Solution
  • Pay It Forward and Practice Random Acts of Kindness

The videos and short films that are produced as part of this theme will likely focus on:

  • Community/Neighborhood Relations
  • Disadvantaged Community Relations and Issues
  • Elderly Relations and Issues
  • Family Relations and Issues
  • Youth Relations and Issues

This year’s theme holds a double meaning that applies metaphorically to the action to be taken by the audience plus the literal in filmmaking. Framing or, to frame is a verb that encourages viewers to take action in making or constructing something in accordance with a plan. Frame is also a term in video which refers to a single picture in a video sequence.
